Terms of Use

1. Operator and scope

CarbonTrack is operated by the CarbonTrack team based in Can Tho, Vietnam.

These terms apply to every user, including guest mode.

2. What the service does

• Field plot surveys: recording coordinates, species, diameter, tree count, plot area and technical notes.
• Biomass and carbon estimates using the methods and coefficients published in the platform documentation.
• Storage and synchronisation of survey and project data between the web app and the Zalo Mini App when you are signed in.
• PDF report export from saved project data.

3. Results are technical estimates

The biomass, carbon and CO₂ equivalent figures produced by the platform are estimates based on the data you enter and published coefficients. They are not verified, issued or certified carbon credits and cannot be traded directly on carbon markets.

Credit verification requires independent assessment against the applicable standard. The platform does not replace legal, investment or third-party due diligence advice.

4. Your account

• You are responsible for the accuracy of your registration details and for keeping your password secure.
• Please tell us immediately if you detect unauthorised access to your account.
• Guest mode lets you use the calculator without an account; guest data stays on your device and may be lost if you clear app data.

5. Acceptable use

• Enter truthful survey data and survey only with permission from the landowner or the competent authority.
• Do not enter other people's personal data without their consent.
• Do not reverse engineer, disrupt, send malware or overload the system.
• Do not use platform results to certify carbon outcomes for third parties without a written agreement with CarbonTrack.

6. Device permissions

Some features need access to your current location to verify plot coordinates, and file download permission to save PDF reports to your device. The platform requests a permission only when you use the related feature; you can decline and still use the rest of the app.

7. Intellectual property

The CarbonTrack name, logo, interface, source code and methodology documentation belong to the CarbonTrack team.

Survey and project data you enter remains yours. You grant CarbonTrack the right to process that data to the extent needed to provide the service.

8. Personal data

How we collect and process personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms an inseparable part of these terms.

9. Limitation of liability

The platform is provided as is. We work to keep the service stable but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free operation or freedom from data loss caused by events outside our control.

To the extent permitted by law, CarbonTrack is not liable for indirect losses, lost profit or investment decisions made on the basis of the platform's estimates.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access if we detect a breach of these terms or behaviour that harms the system or other users.

You may stop using the service at any time and request account deletion by email.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes in the service or in the law. The update date appears at the top of this page. Continuing to use the platform after an update means you accept the new version.

12. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam. The parties will first try to resolve disputes by negotiation; if that fails, the dispute will be handled by a competent authority in Vietnam.
